I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I am from England and met Todd when I worked at North Shore Day Camp in Long Island in 1987. At the time I was a very introverted person, and was struggling with homesickness. Todd took time to talk to me (to try to help me) and although it was a brief interaction and one he had no reason to engage in, he just seemed to care. and I never forgot his kindness. Eileen,Steven,& Kerry-I pray that the fact that Todd Was loved,known & revered by so many brings you comfort.A rare person who touched so many lives.My first recollection of Todd was Little league during an allstar game @ Glen Head Elementary.I was in warm-up circle swinging 2 bats.Todd thought I was done & walked up behind,I took one more swing & hit him w/full swing right in the stomach.Coach thought I KO'D our star pitcher was gonna bench me.Todd said no it was his fault & he should let me play.That was your husband/father a stand-up GUY @ 12 yrs old.God Bless u-Sincerly David J Clare

Dear Eileen Steve and Kerry, our sympathies on Todd's passing, I will miss him at the Ballpark. Jackie Robinson had a quote that fit Todd so completely that I have to share it, especially given Todd's love of the game and sports. "A life is not important except in the impact it has on others". Todd touched hundreds of thousands of lives and for those of us who were fortunate to share time with him he will be forever missed. Eileen, I will always remember you and Todd in the halls of NSHS...you were lucky to have so many years together. I first saw Todd when he played for the Chattanooga Lookouts. He invited us to watch him play against the local team when he was in town. We were so proud to know him and watch him play. He treated us like VIPs. Years later, he and Eileen came to my wedding and spent the entire weekend at my parents' home -- cooking and cooking and cooking for all the family and many guests. We could not make them stop cooking... and we didn't want to! Everything Eileen fixed, Todd would proudly share with everyone -- nodding along saying "You gotta try this... good stuff!" And he was always right. He made an impression on everyone that met him. He was the definition of good stuff. We miss him terribly.

As an alumnus of both North Shore and SHU, this photo and many of the others brought me to tears. All of the rest of the photos are wonderful, especially those with Eileen and the kids. Todd was 2 years ahead of me in school. At Seton Hall,he always made it a point to "look out" for me, silly young kid that I was. Someone bothering me at the Pub? Todd would appear, or I would head for "his" corner by the door, and the guy bothering me would scurry away in a big hurry! I have never forgotten one of the most admirable things he ever did for me. I had a boyfriend from Glen Head who had been in Todd's class at North Shore. One night on the ride back to school after a long weekend, Todd "mentioned" several times that he had seen this boyfriend over the weekend up at Danny's Place...WITH a certain female. He said this several times,till it sunk in as to what he meant. He certainly didn't have to tell me that,and many guys would have stuck with "guy code". Not Todd..he did the honorable thing ,and it really meant a lot to me. The younger guys on the SHU baseball team had intense admiration for Todd, and referred to him simply as "The Big Guy". None of them were embarrassed to admit that they wanted to be just like "The Big Guy",and not just in terms of sporting achievements. Todd was absolutely a "one of a kind" in so many ways,and I consider myself fortunate to have known him. We emailed a few times over the years, and what came through clearly was how proud he was of his children,and of Eileen's career accomplishments.(He never said much about his OWN accomplishments...just theirs). My prayers go out to you, Eileen and kids. Always remember...even if Todd isn't here with us physically...you can be positive he is in spirit---and he's STILL "watchin'out"! Rest in peace,Big Guy.
